FAQs

Why is Embodiment important?

Because you are a human with a body and in our modern, daily lives we are often disconnected from this fact.

Many of us have complicated relationships with our bodies and have spent the majority of our lives distancing ourselves from them.

Through Embodiment work, we are able to come back into relationship with our bodies, reclaiming all parts of ourselves in wholeness - mind, body and soul. It is returning to a right relationship with all things.

Are you the right support person for me?

Only you can answer that. Just like finding the right therapist, personal trainer or yoga class is a very personal decision, so is choosing an Embodiment Mentor or Somatic Practitioner.

From past experiences in choosing my own mentors, I can say that alignment in values is key. Most of my past clients have said that there was something about my energy that drew them to me and the way I navigate the world, through my words and actions, inspired them to desire more freedom and healing for themselves.

You will know if I am right for you when you turn off all the noise, slow down and listen to the still, small voice within yourself that knows how to recognize what is good for YOU in the next step if your journey.

If that voice says “yes”, then I would love to set up a time to chat.

What if I’m not religious and don’t have a background in the church or Purity Culture?

I recognize that faith-based topics can be deeply triggering to many survivors of religious trauma. Unless you ask for it, our sessions are a religion neutral space.

If you’ve never be part of a church, you may still be impacted by the ideologies of purity culture that have seeped into the mainstream. Here, we get curious of the stories that live in our bodies and how they impact our nervous systems.

Do you only work with women?

The majority of my clients identify as women or non-bindary/gender non-confirming, however I am open to working with anyone who is a good match for my 1:1 coaching.

Mutual respect must be the foundation of all 1:1 coaching and we only go where the body gives full consent.

What does working with you look like?

Firstly, you won’t be figuring out your way on your own anymore. Years ago I wished I had someone to help me unpack all the narratives I had absorbed from purity culture and integrate my spirituality and my sexuality, but I didn't; so I became that person for myself and others.

Practically we meet in online session and together we will explore the limiting beliefs that have held you back and areas of your life that are still holding onto unresolved trauma. I meet you where you are currently at in your journey and hold space for you to explore those memories and emotions in a way that helps you process everything and let go of anything that no longer serves you.

I will help re-introduce you to your body and gently assist in facilitating that relationship as you learn the skills of listening to your body’s wisdom from an embodied place.

Most importantly, I am here to help gently hold you accountable. I will help spark your curiosity and support you as you explore what it means to be fully human.

I will recommend that you commit to weekly or bi-weekly sessions for four months, because it takes time to wade through all the limiting beliefs that we have absorbed and replace them with a vibrant, healthy, liberated and embodied life that is grounded in truth. After this time, you can choose to continue our journey together with me as your guide - or not. Whatever honours your journey best.

This is an investment into living life to the full! This journey is not for those who don’t want to put the work in or who want a band-aid fix.

Because if you choose to show up each week with your full self, I promise you will see results that shift into all areas of your life.

All the freedom is on the other side of your ‘yes’.
