I know that I promised to post photos from our Wedding Ceremony but this is FAR.MORE.IMPORTANT.
By now I’m sure that you have heard the news that the destruction of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines has been overwhelmingly disastrous. So far 9.5 Million people have been effected and 600,000 have been displaced from their homes with the death toll estimated at 10,000 and rising.
Its hard to put those kinds of numbers into perspective and realize that each number represents a precious human life. As I hear these reports, I’m seeing daily flashback images of the faces of the children that I met last year while in the Philippines with World Vision.
Please don’t just scroll through the following photos quickly. Please take the time to look into the eyes of each child for a moment.
I know I posted a lot of photos… but I want you to see each child: worthy, valuable, precious, unique… and vulnerable due to poverty and lack of basic necessities to keep them out of the storm’s devastating path. If we respond quickly, we may be able to find those who are desperately waiting on the edge of rescue before its too late.
Please Please Please take the time to make a minimum of $10 donation (or more) to support World Vision in their relief efforts. There is an urgent need for life-saving essentials and emergency supplies such as blankets, clean drinking water, medical aid, hygiene kits and shelter in the wake of Typhoon Haiyan.
Plus, the Canadian Government is matching all donations until December 8, 2012! So your gift goes twice as far!
